Production Process

The production of technical documentation is similar for all products, whether they are printed handbooks or used online. Successive drafts are written by HTP, reviewed by the customer, and revised by HTP until a document of the required content and standard is obtained. The procedure is outlined below. 1. Proposal

Based on information supplied by you or gained from a site visit, you will receive a detailed job proposal that defines:

When you place an order, you will receive an order confirmation that confirms the production, pricing and delivery requirements.

3. Draft Production

Draft documentation is produced using the agreed methods and source information and subject to internal review and quality control checks before delivery. The draft delivery may comprise electronic files or hardcopy. The number of intermediate drafts in the production schedule is stipulated in the job proposal. Each intermediate draft is amended in accordance with information from the preceding review. This comprises the next draft and is identified as such on the document.

4. Draft Review

You review each draft of the document, mark any corrections or additions on the copy, and return the it with any new or additional information. Milestones for draft reviews are defined in the proposal.

5. Delivery

The final draft material is amended to obtain finished document which is then delivered to you. The final delivery is on your preferred medium and includes all the electronic files that have been produced.
