Internet Publishing

Publishing on the Internet is becoming increasingly common and offers the following advantages:

HTP can quickly convert your existing technical documentation to a format suitable for distribution via the web or CD-ROM. Some common formats include:

HTML    Uses a set of markup symbols or codes that tell the web browser how to display the words and images. The pages on this web site use HTML.

PDF    Adobe's solution for document distribution that guarantees that a document appears the same no matter what operating system it is viewed on. The Acrobat Reader is distributed free of charge. PDF can be produced from most word processing and DTP packages.

Microsoft Word   If your documents are already in Microsoft Word, than you can easily distribute them on CD along with the Word Viewer application. This lets the user view files but not make changes.

Microsoft Reader   Similar to Adobe's PDF format, but particularly suitable for documents that will be read on handheld or palmtop computers.
